In the course of operating our website at www.dicoverlight.net, Burstein Enterprises Inc. ("B.E.") may collect personally identifiable information from our customers, as well as from prospective business partners and from others. B.E. recognizes the importance of an individual's right to keep personally identifiable information private.
This statement describes the ways that we collect information through this site and describes the ways we use and disclose that information created on the website.
Your access to and continued use of the website located at www.discoverlight.net (the "site") constitutes your acceptance of the following provisions. 1. What information of yours does the site collect?
We collect two types of information from you when you visit the site: information which does not identify you personally ("Non-Personal Information"), and information which does identify you personally ("Personal Information").
Non-Personal Information
Our Web server may automatically record certain technical information related to your visit to the site. This information is anonymous and does not identify you personally. Personal Information
In general, you can visit the site without providing us with any Personal Information. The site does, however, provide you with certain ways to voluntarily provide us with your Personal Information. For example, the site provides online forms which allow you to upload a digital photographs, inquire about becoming a DiscoverLight distributor, or send us a generic message.
2. What are "cookies" and how does the site use them?
A cookie is a small text file containing a unique identification number that is transferred (through your browser) from a website to the hard drive of your computer. The cookie identifies your browser but will not let a website know any Personal Information about you, such as your name or address. These files are then used by such websites as a kind of electronic identification tag when users re-visit that site. Since cookies are only text files, they cannot run on your computer, search your computer for other information or transmit any information to anyone.
As with many major websites, this site use cookies. Cookies are used by the site only to help us identify purchase patterns in the aggregate, for the purpose of refining our marketing efforts and search engine optimization. 3. How does B.E. use the collected information?
When you purchase the DiscoverLight online, we use your name, address, and other information for the sole purpose of shipping you the product. Your credit card information is processed on our behalf by Internet Secure of Oakville, Ontario. B.E. does not have access to your credit card information at any time. If you use the general contact form, the image-upload form, or the distributor inquiry form, we will use your information only to follow up with requests you made in your initial inquiry.
4. With whom does B.E. share the information that is collected?
We will not share any Personal Information that you provide us with to any third party, except as permitted or required by law or in the unlikely event that B.E. or substantially all of its assets are acquired by another entity, in which case the information which we have collected will be one of the transferred assets.
5. How can you access, edit or delete your information?
We will provide you with access to the Personal Information we have collected from you through the site. In the event that any of this information is not accurate, please let us know so that we can update our records. B.E. is accountable for all personal information in its control.
6. How can you opt-out?
Unless you fill out a form on the site or purchase the DiscoverLight, B.E. will not collect any personally identifiable information.
7. What types of security procedures are in place to protect your Personal Information?
B.E. takes reasonable precautions to keep the information that we collect through the site secure and to prevent the loss, misuse, and alteration of the Personal Information under our control. These security measures include physical, organizational and electronic precautions. Any sensitive Personal Information (for example, credit-card information) is transmitted through secure connections and retained in secure facilities by Internet Secure and protected from unauthorized access.
